Die UNi-Gruppe, 1988 gegründet, besteht aus Studierenden der Universitäten in Berlin und Potsdam und steht in enger Verbindung zur Deutschen Gesellschaft der Vereinten Nationen (DGVN), Landesverband Berlin-Brandenburg. Unsere studentische Organisation wird ständig durch Mitglieder im Vorstand der DGVN repräsentiert.
Von der DGVN sind wir finanziell und organisatorisch unabhängig. Oftmals sind unsere Mitglieder ebenfalls Teil der DGVN, aber dies ist keine Voraussetzung für die ehrenamtliche Mitarbeit in unserer Hochschulgruppe. Zudem ist die UNi-Gruppe Gründungsmitglied bei Junges-UNO-Netzwerk - JUNON, einem Netzwerk junger UNO-Gruppen aus ganz Deutschland.
Die Absicht der UNi-Gruppe ist es, durch regelmäßige Debatten und Informationsaustausch die Vereinten Nationen sowie Geschehnisse der internationalen Politik in Alltag, Forschung und Lehre an Universitäten und Schulen zu integrieren. Wir leisten politische Bildungsarbeit in der breiteren Öffentlichkeit, wodurch jedoch auch unsere eigenen Mitglieder sich weiter über die Vereinten Nationen informieren und ein besseres Verständnis für internationale Politik, Konflikte, Kommunikation und unterschiedliche Herangehensweisen erhalten sollen.
Die UNi-Gruppe ist des Weiteren politisch unabhängig. Sie versteht sich als Zusammenschluss junger Menschen, die sich mit diesen Zwecken identifizieren und die Intentionen aktiv umsetzen möchten. Die eigene Begeisterung für die Ideale der Vereinten Nationen ist dabei stets unser Antrieb. Ausgehend von dieser Motivation begleiten und beobachten wir die Entwicklung und Arbeit der Vereinten Nationen jedoch durchaus auch kritisch.
Um die genannten Ziele zu erreichen, organisiert die UNi-Gruppe mehrere Projekte, die unter Gruppenprojekte genauer vorgestellt werden. Mit dabei stehen auch die Kontaktinformationen der KoordinatorInnen. Seit ihrer Gründung und primär durch verschiedene Projektgruppen, führt die UNi-Gruppe auf regulärer Basis mannigfaltige Aktivitäten und Projekte durch, um über die Vereinten Nationen und internationale Politik zu informieren. Diese Projekte beinhalten Diskussionsrunden, Seminare, Vorträge und UN Simulationen an Schulen und Universitäten. Darüber hinaus nehmen wir an vielen weiteren Aktivitäten teil wie beispielsweise internationale Model United Nations (MUN) and Konferenzen bis hin zum Anbieten unserer Unterstützung für spezielle Veranstaltungen. Wir veranstalten auch regelmäßige soziale Events für Interessierte, um uns gegenseitig besser kennen zu lernen und unsere Erfahrungen auszutauschen.
Die gesamte UNi-Gruppe wird durch die Gesamtkoordination (GK) geleitet, die die Aufgabe hat, die Struktur aufrecht zu erhalten. Die inhaltliche Arbeit der UNi-Gruppe spielt sich in den Projektgruppen ab, die von den Projektkoordinator*innen (PK) geführt werden können. Mit allen Mitgliedern treffen wir uns in den Gesamtgruppentreffen, um Organisatorisches zu besprechen, Projekte zu organisieren und Arbeitskräfte zu verteilen. In den einzelnen Projektgruppentreffen, die zusätzlich zu den Gesamtgruppentreffen stattfinden können, werden dann die jeweiligen Projekte realisiert.
Die Gruppenkoordination und/oder bis zu zwei Coaches begleiten die Mitglieder und betreuen auch die PKs; sie üben mit den Mitgliedern unter anderem Management und Organisation oder geben auch Chairtraining, damit Neulinge den Vorsitz bei UN-Simulationen übernehmen können.

The entire UNi-Group is overseen by a group coordinator (GC) who have the primary responsibility to keep the structure intact and running. Content oriented work of the UNi-Group is primarily done within the four project groups that are managed by project coordinators (PC). All members gather at all-group meetings in order to discuss organisational matters, to organise projects and to distribute manpower. Within the specific project meetings which can take place additionally to the all-group-meetings, members will realise their particular project. The GC and/or up to two Coaches attend to members and supervise the PCs; they practise with the members among other things management and organising or give chairtraining so that newcomers can take over the responsibibilities of the chairs during UN-simulations.
The UNi-Group was founded in 1988, is comprised of students from Berlin and Potsdam and associated with the United Nations Association of Germany (DGVN), chapter Berlin-Brandenburg. Our student organisation is represented by two permanent seats within the executive committee of the DGVN (www.dgvn-berlin.de).
We are financially as well as organisationally independent. Often are our members also part of the DGVN, however that poses no prerequisite for any voluntary work within our university group. Additionally, the UNi-Group is founding member of the United Nations Youth Association Germany - JUNON - (see further activities), a network of young UN-groups from all over Germany.
The purpose of the UNi-Group is to integrate the United Nations as well as events of international politics into everyday life, reseach and teachings at universities and schools through regular debate and information. We offer political education for the wider public, through which also our own members gain the opportunity to obtain further information about the UN and a better understanding for international politics, conflicts, communication and different approaches.
Furthermore, the UNi-Group is politically independent. The group is meant to be an association of young people who identify themselves with aforementioned objectives and are willing to pursue these intentions actively. The own enthusiasm for the ideals of the United Nations is our drive at all times. However, ensuing from this motivation we accompany and observe the development and work of the United Nations critically as well.
The UNi-Group organises several project groups which are being introduced in greater detail under group structure, in order to reach said goals. There, you will also find the contact details of the project coordinators. Since its foundation and primarily through various project groups, the UNi-Group is regularly carrying out a wide range of activities and projects to inform about the United Nations and international politics. Those projects include talks, seminars, lectures and UN simulations at schools and universities. Additionally there is a broad range of activities from the participation in international Model United Nations (MUN) and conferences to providing assistance for special events. There are also regular social events for interested people to get to know each other and share their experiences.
